If you have been following my other thread Working under the back deck/splashwell you know I had to resort to cutting the ends of the vertical panel that goes under the rear casting deck. I want to add some tabs that I can screw the panel to when I re-install it.

What is the proper alloy of aluminum sheet metal and thickness (not structural to the boat, but that piece does help support the rear casting deck) ? Where do you buy material like this ?
The tabs will be about 4" wide and about 6" long. Half of the width will be screwed and bonded to the piece of aluminum that is left in the boat. I have JB Weld and 3M 4200 available. Which "glue" would be best ? (The removed panel will just be attached with screws.)

5052 .080 is what you could use, I would also use 5200 and some solid rivets if you have them otherwise 3/16 blind.

Yeah I agree with dozer, 5052 AL and 5200 if you don't want it to come apart.
