Which engine is mine?

I have an 85 Evinrude outboard with the model number of 2bbxco. On the Evinrude site, it calls the motor a "Sea Drive" - which is the motor I have and also the type of mount I have on the back of the boat. It doesn't appear these are too common and no longer offered.

But when I go to ANY parts site, none have that engine model as an option. I know it's a 1.6L engine, but that's all.

As I've been trying to figure out what parts to order, I'm guessing it's either a 115 HP or a 140 HP equivalent. But in order to get the parts that aren't the same, how can I figure out which engine I have, or it's equivalent?

Thanks for any response!

The "C0" in the model number coincides the year of the engine is a 1985 model.

Check the exhaust baffle plate between the cylinder heads.... a bulging plate indicates a 140hp,,,, a flat plate indicates a 115hp.

Thanks - not exactly sure what that means but I'll figure it out.

I don't need any parts that I know of yet - just ordered a cylinder head but found they were the same for both the 115 and 140 engines. Want to know for the future.

I've got that same engine. It's a 115hp, 85 model, manual steering, flat back power head. the power head parts are mostly the same with the exception of linkage parts and some of the electronics. Parts are somewhat easy to find through the various suppliers until you get to the Sea Drive bracket. tilt and trim cylinders, hydraulic manifolds, hoses for the hydraulics, etc. I replaced my hoses recently and could only find two of the exact hoses, ordered two each of both hoses and had to do some modifications to get them to fit but work fine.

I also just got done with a modification with air inlet. the Sea Drives worked great on bigger, heavier boats without swamping the motor on power up. My 18ft. Wellcraft has always had an issue in rough water ingesting water through the rear air intake and causing issues with running and shorting out the electronics...

Larry, you're awesome! Thanks.

After looking at my 115 and then looking at a known 140 - I now understand what the flat plate vs bludging plate means. Mine is flat as expected.
