Which fuel filter for 5.7 v8?

I had a 5.7 gl-b installed until recently rePowering with a newer improved 5.7 engine which adopts a different fuel pump and Est ignition.

I now need an inline fuel filter that can cope with the demand of this engine, can anyone recommend a part? It would be good if it were water separating.

Best wishes,

Stan

Not sure why you posted this in the Mercruiser forum, but moving to the non-repair IO forum.
Any water seperating fuel filter kit will work fine as long as it has a metal filter element, and no clear plastic fuel bowls. Every marine shop in the US carries these kits. Not sure about Scotland.

Next, you did not have a 5.7GL-B (Volvo) you had a 2000 Volvo engine, probably an EF model 5.7GL since it was carbed, but no numbers so who knows for sure. You also do not now have a 5.7GL-B.
Your new engine was aftermarket, I did give you a wiring diagram for a GL-B because it had a wiring diagram with the type ignition system your aftermarket engine because your new engine didn't have a wiring harness. So, the diagram shows you how to modify your EF wiring harness for the EST plus it will work with your aftermarket fuel pump that came with your new engine without using the oil pressure switch that came with the engine.
I also gave you the engine manual so you knew how to torque things down without reinventing a new torque system of your own.

I posted this whilst browsing on my phone in the mercruiser section by accident... Thanks for advice Don, found a Quicksilver kit on eBay with canister filter which I expect will do just the job.

Best wishes,
