Hey just curious curious if anyone could help me decide which type of gear lube to use. I have a 2000 Crownline with a little 4 cylinder engine. I think the engine is rated for 190HP. The boat has a lower unit. I am having a hard time trying to figure out if I should buy Quicksilver Premium Gear Lube, or the Quicksilver High Performance Gear Lube. I read that the high performance is used more in the speed boats? I just don't want to buy the wrong oil and damage the lower unit because of it.

Thoughts???

Thanks

The High Performance is the best, by a long way. When I had my boatshop I used nothing but.... Never had a single problem, even used it in the little 2.2hp engines. The customers loved it. Reckoned it made their engine quicker...

It's recommended for gearboxes up to 600hp... and has far better water resistance than the Premium blend.
