1999 Bayliner 1954, 3.0, 135. The boat is at the marina and for the life of me can't figure out if it's an Alpha One or an Alpha One Generation II. I need to pick up a part before I get the boat out of storage (impeller kit - found one with part number 18-3214) and it's for Alpha Gen II's.

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks - called Bayliner customer line and gave them the hull ID and she said it's an Alpha One. Hmmm...not sure what years the Gen II's were made but I thought for sure it was a Gen II. I probably need to just get the darn boat back and look at the s/n, eh? :)

Re: Which Mercruiser Alpha do I have?

They are known as Alpha I drives but it is also a Gen II. The complete terminology is an Alpha I Gen II drive.
The Gen II did come out in 91 as Sharkey mentioned, but the previous version stopped being in production so there is no cross over. If you have an original 99, there is no doubt it's an Alpha I Gen II drive.
Regarding the manual for your drive. Here is a link to the Mercruser OEM manual. The paper version is identical.

http://www.boatfix.com/merc/Servmanl/14/14cover.pdf
