Which Muffs to rinse 82 Johnson outboard

I have a 1982 25HP johnson outboard and I can't find any muffs to freshwater flush it with. The intake holes on the lower unit are right up next to the cavitation plate (?) and the round muffs won't fit. I tried the thinner horizontal ones...no go. I don't really want to fill a trash can each time I fish in saltwater. Any ideas?
Thanks guys.

Did you ever see the rubber strap type of flush kit?

Philster hello.
Not sure what a rubber strap one is. I've always used the round rubber muffs attached to metal rods. Ya know just the regular ones. But they don't fit this engine, the intake holes are really close to the Cavitation plate and I can't get a seal.
Is the one you are talking about different?
Thanks

If you have enough water pressure you might not need a seal; just enough to get the telltale working. I get water all over my feet with the muff. Sometimes, though, I have to press the muff against the motor to get it sucking it up.

I have seen guys cut the bottom part of the round muffs flat to fit better on the cavitation plate. Like HC said, they don't need to seal, they just need to provide enough water to sucked into the engine.
