I have a 2000 Rinker Captiva 206 I am thinking about attempting to winterize it myself. I am looking for the service manuals for the engine and drive to see where all the drain plugs are, filter numbers, etc. Does the out drive need to be aligned every year? This part seems intimidating. Thanks everyone.

Engine: Mercruiser 350 Mag
S/N: 0L092310

Drive: Bravo 3 twin prop
S/N: OL413134

The outdrive doesn't get aligned, the engine does, and it should be checked anually.

The service manuals for your engine and drive are 24 (engine) and 11 (drive), but they will not give you part numbers. For that use the search function on iBoats or at the Merc webapp site. https://webapps.brunswick.com/literature/literatureSearch.do Just put your serial number in and you get a full listing of the parts...

That's interesting your boat at around 21 feet and that engine would even have a Bravo 3.......most of that length/style boat out here would either be a a1g2 or Bravo 1 not a B3.

So is the "intimidating" you refer to the alignment of the engine checking or wresting with a Bravo 3?

Oops typo. Its a 232 not a 206.

Do you have to put mercruiser oil and fuel filters on it or can I go to Napa or car quest.

There are less then a half dozen filter manufactures, so use what you wish, there all about the same. While it is best to pull the drive and check alignment every year I don't, I do it every other year. I also have a 232 with a bravo 3 drive and bought new in 95

I got the Napa oil filter number (1060) but cannot find the fuel/water separator filter number. Does anyone know it off hand?

Now THAT makes more sense.

Which I wasn't questioning what engine a B3 could be behind, it was the size and style of boat:friendly_wink:

Yes, it's normal to see the Alphas on the 'smaller' boats, mainly due to cost. My personal view is that the Bravo is a far superior drive. I wouldn't be at all disappointed if Merc dropped the Alpha and priced the Bravo more realistically... I would love to have a B3 on my boat... ;)

Sorry I meant the NAPA or wix cross reference # for the fuel filter.

At a minimum, one on each side of the engine block, one of the bottom of each manifold, one on the power steering pump oil cooler. You may also have one on the bottom of the fuel cooler too...
