which oil??

I have just bought a javelin with a 1995 evinrude intruder 150. Which oil do you use? The vro is bypassed. Oil is mixed with gas. Previus owner said to run only evinrude/johnson oil. He had run the cheaper pennzoil but had the motor lock up. Mechanic told him to run only evinrude/johson oil. what aboat Quicksilver oil in evinrude??? Sam's has it for $18.00 a gal.

I use q'silver in my 150, as long as its TCW3 , not the older type ( which I've never even seen). Any current stock is going to be the proper oil.

So he bypassed the vro and it has locked up (seized) in the past, probably more of a connection there than which brand oil.

Have to agree. If it was running with TCW-3 mixed correctly then there is something else wrong.
