Can you tell me which Pitch prop would be best for my Merc 115 with the 2.1 gear ratio . i am at 7600 altitude .
the boat did not come with a prop so i am not sure which to get a 17 or a 19 -? will just use the boat for flying up the late to fish and then use a kicker motor

With out a boat and it dimensions along with estimated load weight your question is impossible to answer.

Your gonna have to get the motor running on the boat. Not enough info as already said. If you have to buy a prop to get this information then good luck. If you heavy large boat get the 17, if light and smaller get the 19. Probably won't be right but you have to start somewhere. I have a 115 with a 15p 4 blade and my buddy has a 115 with a 21p 3 blade. Both work fine on the boats they are on.

You are going to need the altitude conversion to assist in getting the right answer. That's a pretty good altitude and I'd bet you are going to have to shave 4" or thereabouts off your pitch as compared to what it would be at sea level. Guys on here know the numbers. You might repost asking the altitude conversion factor for prop pitch then go after your 17-19 equivalent which is what I ran on a couple of different types of boats down "heah" at sea level. The 17 was on an 18' tri hull used for water sports and large family whereas the 19 was on a 17' pad boat. But your exact boat characteristics help with the guessing.

I think the guy just posted and then vamoosed.. Proper jetting should take care of most of the hp " lost " at that altitude.

No, it won't get back the Hp lost due to altitude. It will reduce the hp lose due to running too rich. He might have to drop the pitch into the low teens to make up for the lower air density.
