I have a 24ft semi rigid with a 200hp diesel reving to 3800rpm. My drive is a volvo penta sx. Currently the prop im using is a 14.5 x 19inch aluminium prop.
And finally, to get to the point, Im thinking of fitting a 14.2 x 23inch stainless prop as the current prop just doesnt get the boat to perform as it should.
If anyone could tell me whether the new prop would perform better, or at all, id be grateful.

Re: Which prop for me???

Need more info.

Generally adding pitch reduces WOT rpm roughly 1 inch = 200 rpm

Also changing from an alum to SS may give a slight reduction in rpm as the SS will not 'flex' near as much as the alum does.

Your WOT rpm 3800 with a 19 inch pitch then a 23 inch should run @ 3200

What is your engine rated ? You DO NOT want to lug it below the manufacturers rated speed.

Welcome to the forum. I agree with the above post, but what exactly do you mean by perform better?
