Hello,

I found this video which describes how to install the riser gaskets.

They are putting some black sealing compound on the rubber part, starting in the video at 1:20.

So I have two questions.
Should I really do that or should this seals be better built in dry ? I looked in the Mercruiser manual but did not find anything about a liquid seal in this place.

If the answer is yes, what should I use for this ? Would Quicksilver Perfect seal be ok or is there something better ?

Regards
Michael

OMG! When will this moron stop posting blatantly wrong information?
Not the first of his videos that is 100% wrong either!

Turbulator gaskets go between manifold and ELBOW without any sealant. The surfaces need to be clean and DRY. Torque the screws to spec. First pass, 9Nm, final pass 61Nm. Do not overtighten!

Thank you for your answer, I do really appreciate your help.
I was a little confused because by the design of the rubber seal it looked to me like there should be no other liguid seal. All parts are clean because they are new and I do always work with torque wrenches.
