Which Steering Cable?

I need a rotary steering cable for my pontoon boat. I checking here, I noticed
there are several different types. There is a Pretech model for $59 and the QC II model for $115. What is the difference between the two? Will the Pretech work on my old pontoon rotary steering?

You need to get the make and model off your helm as cables are brand/model specific.

look on the black sheath of the cable, that is your replacement number. Pretech, is new to the market. i think it is a spin off of teleflex, but not sure. get what you have, then you know it will work.

I found these numbers on my old cable; 16 FT SSC 7216 K83.
Do you know if Pretech & Teleflex are interchangeable?

I don't believe they are. The teleflex cables have the threaded knob on the end to secure it to the helm and the pretech have a fitting crimped on the end with a groove that slides into the helm and a bolt is run thru the helm and in the groove to hold it in place
