Hello,I have a 19ft Southern Skimmer skiff that I'm in the process of fixing up,transom, stringers, deck. I'm using Raka epoxy resin for the repairs. What paint should I use? can I get away with a one part paint or do I need to use a 2 part? I would prefer to use one part due to cost. Any recommendations? thank you.

you will need a good catalyzed 2-part paint if you want it to last. even the tractor paint with hardener is a 2-part paint once you add hardener.

Yup read the last link in my signature. Tractor Paint with hardener will do a nice job for around $100

Ok,two part paint it is!.... I will be checking out the tractor paint with the catalyst for a low cost option, its a fish, crab, shrimp boat, doesn't have to be pretty.

Another question, an epoxy resin repair needs to be top coated because the sunlight/UV will degrade/oxidize it, if I repair the transom and leave it uncoated, will I run into problems with UV degradation while I work on the stringers/deck? or should I paint it right away?

I'm not sure what amount of time cured epoxy resin can sit out in the sun before it's an issue, but I figured it must be months and months at least, I left my epoxied deck/transom out for a few weeks and the epoxy started to yellow slightly, so I promptly coated it with paint.

I wasn't ready/prepped to paint my transom yet but I have sprayed on coats of rustoleum I had laying around till I got to it.
