Our dealership only stocks the Triton TR-22-2 for scissor lifts. (smaller ones are special order) The Triton 22's have additional cradle/pivot supports and side guide rollers front and back. The smaller ones only have guide rollers in the rear.
Your 90hp, with a sizable amount of fuel, is pretty heavy in the rear. That's where the extra bracing is a plus. Having a slightly longer trailer allows you to adjust your boat placement for better balance. Meaning adequate tongue weight. We need tongue weight.
The longer trailer, at least Tritons, will have a wider range of axle adjustment. This makes fine tuning, your weight distribution, easy.
Torsion axles are better than springs. The folks that shun scissor trails have probably had a bad experience with spring axles. Tandem torsions are the ticket. We will not sell a single axle scissor trailer of any size.
I personally use a scissor trailer capable of handling a 24ft. Mine is a 20ft, my father in-law has a 22.5, and a couple neighbors have 23's & 24's.
I think you'll be happier with the longer one. Which one is best? That's a tough call. That's why you're getting different answers. I would try to coach you towards the 22 due to the additional bracing and more adjust-ability.
