which type of prop would be right to help push my boat around???

Yea im trying to get this motor... it calls for a 35hp motor... its a 16ft fiber glass boat its from the 70s king fisher model... dont know if yall ever heard of that or what but its not really that big of a boat 4 seats is all it has... its all i can afford (motor) right now so i hope i here good news about it im not looking for a speed boat just a good lil fishing boat...

I think it will get you on plane with a light load. Maybe 15 mph or so. Should get you out and fishing. But you don't want to go out if the weather is not fair. You could run into problems fighting a strong wind, waves and current.

so the river for me would be outta the question should i wait or if i kinda modded it a lilbit like hone out the high speed jet or is boat motors that much diff from dirtbike/atv motor thanks for that fast reply guy...

honestly hold out for something in the 25-35 range, you will be much happier

I agree. I have a heavy gauge aluminum boat just under 16 feet with a 60HP four stroke. You really do want a little more power.

16 ft fibreglas...I wouldn't go less than a 40 hp. I had a '72 fibreglas Crestliner 14 ft. with a 40 Evinrude. It moved it OK but no speed demon. Anything less and you will always wish for more.

uhh that sucks cause i kinda had to go ahead and buy it...(Ebay) but is there anyway i could make it have a lil more poneys yea im still kinda happy the boat i got ever since the first time i got it aint been right...i just cant wait to hit the water an catch some bass...

No you really can't hop up an outboard, it can be done but it isn't something just anyone can do, if you just hog out the jets you will only make it run badly.

I would run it till you find another engine, it should do alright to move the baot along you just aren't going to set any speed records with it.

Uhhhhh... I think most of these people are just telling you the truth: The boat will be alright and will get you fishing, but you will probably end up wanting more power eventually.

just an idea..when you hit the river go against the current so you can see how the motor will push it. This way when you are done fishing the current will take you to your launching spot instead of struggling back in.. I learned this lesson the hard way first time out with a jon boat and trolling motor.

Its not really that big of a boat its not wide or anything like that i took out the dash and some other things that i dont need trying to make it lighter i can pick the front and the back of it now...it will just be me and my gf in there im 6"3 205 and shes 5"5 prob 120 so im really thinkin im gonna be ok...i hope to set a few speed records and all

it has a 2 blade on there now...i was thinking the prop is like its gear ratio is that right??? maybe i could go up in ratio to help push me around???
