Which water pump?

For those of you with expertise concerning part numbers & year etc. I would like to change the water pump on my 25 hp. Evinrude electric start. Here is my dilemma. The transom bracket identifies the motor as 1985. The power head has been identified as 1979. The water pump repair kits run 1979-1984. Or 1985 & up. Should I purchase the 79-84 kit or the 85 & up?

Assuming the lower unit is from a 1985 model, then I would go with the 85' and up pump

Thanks. That is my thought as well, but having some other opinions will bolster my confidence.

The '79-84 does not have exhaust exiting through the propeller hub. '85-up does have thru-hub exhaust. Order parts accordingly.

That settles it. Mine exhausts through the hub. Thanks!
