Which 2 seater is the best to buy and priced reasonable. I'm thinkin about getting a Sea Doo XP. What do you think about this bike and all the other 2 seates out there. I'm looking for the year 97-00. Just let me know what you think.
Eric

stay away from two strokes. All watercraft company's now have a four-stroke on the market. Yamaha has there fx140 and fx cruiser... which is great.

Everybody gets the fastest one they can get, and if you are going to operate it like the rest of the no-brainers that are on our lake, you had better be sure to have a good insurance package also. By the way, one fellow tells me it cost about $15.00 an hour to keep the id**t runners in gas. :D :D :D :D

Re: Which waverunner to get?

I think this question was posted as a joke, but if not here goes:

Buy what you can afford and buy what you will have use for, i.e if you have a family buy a bigger 3 or 4 seater. If you ride solo, buy a sport two seater model.

Kawasaki makes a great jet ski, they currently make the fastest production PWC available. It is called the Ultra 150 and will run 64-65 MPH on GPS. The speedo will tell you 70-75 MPH, but it is wrong ( I used to own one I should know).
No stock PWC will be able to keep up with you on the ULtra 150.

Yamaha makes a good PWC also, but their hulls have had porpoising issues in the past. I used to own a GP760 from Yamaha and it porpoised so badly I sold it. Yamaha motors are the one to beat for reliability, but watch out for their year 2000 motors with the new power valve design, they had issues with failures, but I believe that has since been resolved.

Sea-Doo's have too much plastic parts in their design, which causes quality/reliability issues. Their 580 and 780 motors are pretty good, but watch out for their 951's, they too have had reliability issues in the past.

Polaris makes a good PWC, but their market share is pretty small at the time.

Tigershark is no longer in production, so try and steer clear of any used ones, as parts are becoming scarce.

Whatever you buy, buy smart and ride safe. Buy the brand of the dealer in your area so you can have a close service center. I always showed respect to boaters and followed all rules, but I think other punk a$$ "jet skiers" over the years gave all of the good riders a bad rap, because I rarely received a "courtesy wave" in return from a boater. Good luck getting respect out on the water! I have sinced moved on to boating as I got older, and am enjoying it alot.

Heard last week, they were prohibited on lake Powell now....Don't know that for a fact, and this may sound rude but it's time to obtain some order on these fishermen-finding/destroying crotch-rockets........Just my opinion......

Re: Which waverunner to get?

Everybody has opinions on PWC's. Wife and I own two PWC's along with our Boat. Love all 3. Wife has a SeaDoo 2000 RX-DI 2 seat 130 horsepower Direct fuel injected run 61.5 mph on gps Speedo says 71mph. 3 seasons hard rideing ing the Sacramento delta never a problem with it. I have a SeaDoo GTX-DI 3 seat same power package as the RX-DI same amount of riding as wifes had the recitifier for the charging system give up on it about amonth ago took dealer a week to get part and repair ski. As for fuel consumption they hold 15 gallons of gas and we can ride for 9 hours cruising at 25 to 35 mph and still have gas in the tank when we are done. Side note I am 57 wife 52 so no spring chickens being stupid here, just like to ride and have fun.
Rick

Re: Which waverunner to get?

Dear Subscriber:

The Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (Lake Powell) has officially, but quietly, announced that effective September 15, 2002 Personal WaterCraft (PWCs) will be BANNED from the Lake!

This news is not surprising. Many members of the BlueRibbon Lake Powell PWC Task Force have known that the schedule to complete the required Environment Impact Statement (EIS) could not be met by the September 15th 2002 deadline! What is surprising is that the official announcement came in an update, quietly posted to the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (Lake Powell) planning website! There was no press release and not much addition information on the ban and the EIS process have been made public.

What the website stated was simply ?Glen Canyon National Recreation Area does not anticipate completing the special regulation and environmental analysis by September 15, 2002. Therefore, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area will close personal watercraft use on September 15, 2002 and remain closed to personal watercraft use until a regulation is finalized?

Your immediate question should be what can be done to stop this BAN? The answer is visit the BlueRibbon Coalition website at http://www.sharetrails.org and click on the PWCs A Target Lake Powell Update. The most current information on the access to Lake Powell and the PWC issue is there. At the website you should join the Lake Powell Alert network. As a member of the alert list you will be kept informed on the BAN. You can also fill out a form letter to be forwarded to the Park Service during the EIS comment period. It is very important that we are all a part of the EIS comment period when it is announced!

In addition, you can call the BlueRibbon Office at 1-800-258-3742 and ask for Lori during office hours 9 to 5 mountain daylight time Monday through Friday and request a PWC form letter comment kit and/or request printed copies of the Lake Powell PWC Access updates.

The time is now to act if you want continued PWC access to Lake Powell after September 15 2002. The decision to act is yours! Please visit the website http://www.sharetrails.org today!

I GOT THAT FROM THE WEBSITE....
