which way does it go?

Replacing impeller finally, but have seen posts saying to put it in the pump clockwise and ive seen counter clockwise.Does anyone know which it is for sure? iTS an 87 85 hp force. Thanks guys.

Seriously, if you do manage to install a new impellor incorrectly (misnomer), as soon as you start your engine it will correct itself. So not too much of an issue. If I remember correctly now, they spin clockwise... :decision:

The crankshaft (and of course the drive shaft where the impeller mounts) rotates clockwise looking from the top of the flywheel. But the impeller can be mounted either way and will correct itself although it is highly recommend you install it in the correct orientation with the rotation to prevent damaging it. To ease installation I used soap to lube it in.
