which way does the fuel pump go on?

1992 Johnson 90hp - want to replace the oil injection with a regular diaphragm pump. Have the new fuel pump, very simple question: does the pointy end go up or down or does it matter? (the pump is sort of shaped like home plate).

I think the point goes up. That is how it is on my 60hp.

Shouldn't make any difference. It would work laying in the bilge if you could get it connected. Nothing in there depends on gravity.
