White foam in oil vanishes

87 mercruiser 3.0 I was running the motor on the ocean.. It was hiccuping and dieselinng terriblbly.. I noticed a lot of white foam in the oil upon closer inspection the ignition cool wire was loose... Once I put it on and ran it a half hour the foam was gone?? How is one related to the other???any opinions???

They aren't, but you should check your oil level. If over full, the crankshaft can hit the oil and cause it to areate and look foamy.

Ayuh,... Or,...

The condensation you saw in the valve cover, Steamed off, as you ran, 'n Worked the motor, buildin' core temperature...
