Hello

I am quite new in the forum and I am sorry for the bad english.

I have a 2002 volvo penta 5.7 GS. Recently i had to change the entire exaust system and several parts from the engine (the engine was totaly open to substitute - Pistons; valves, gaskest ....) due to water intake caused by damage (corrosion) exaust system.

Now the engine is repaired and i took it for the first water trial, and at low rpm (5.000 maximum for a short period). It is working vary smooth but it seems to leave a significant white smoke trail (It dosen't smells like gasoline vapor).

Do you think is normal, due to the fact that it's the first hours after a vary significant repair

Thank you

Is it a raw water system or closed cooling system? White smoke is usually water/coolant being burned in the combustion chamber.

Hello,
Its a raw water system.

We have already verify the combustion chamber (by removing the sparks) and find no water residues.

Since the motor was under a severe repair, due to water in the iterior of the motor, and all the interior components have been cleanned ands substituted, i hope the smoke is related with this and will reduce.

Best regards and thank you for you attention.
