Blew the cobwebs out of my 04 - 5.0mpi ... lots of smoke initially. I figure it's the fogging oil, and I'm sure I dumped too much in last fall. Motor sounds strong and smooth, but I have a sense that something's not right. No palpable vibration or miss, just something in the sound of the ehaust.
So, to the point---> The white or blue smoke calms after a bit, but I'm getting what looks like white smoke barely blowing out the exhaust. I rev the motor and hold for a few seconds and the smoke dissapears. Back the throttle off and get a small amount. Throttle up again and the smoke blows a bit then dissapates after a few seconds. So, smoke on throttle up.
Motors got 50hrs on it.

I also see the water line that splits into the manifolds - twitching/pulsing. Could I be getting compression blowing into the colling system?..

Head gasket????...

got no water in the oil. I kept pulling the dipstick over the 30 minutes of running. Clear fluid.

Hope somebody can gimme some hints and what for's.

Pulling the plugs tommorrow. Oil check again, of course. Prolly drain a bit for a better look-see.

I would say your boat needs a good run, your saying white smoke are you sure it isnt water steaming from the exhaust

As I said take it out on the lake and give it a good run :D

Cold water. Hot exhaust. Little steam. Normal.
