white smoke upon startup

When I start the boat, I get a little puff of white smoke. Is that becasue I was using low octane gas?

In automobiles white smoke normally signifies the presence of moisture in the combustion chamber. I would assume that marine is similar. I wouldn't think gas would do it but would defer to someone with more expertise.
