Who knows about MerControl?

Have an circa 1972 era MerControl and would love to know what the smaller folding-down lever is for. The main (large) one seems to shift and <br />throttle the Merc 80 hp engine. Can any of you <br />help me with this one? Thanks, Jr..

I would think it is for fast idle at start up. With the big one in neutral, raise that one up a little when you start it and see if it don't idle faster. Also if it is working right, you will not be able to move the big one untill you put the other one back down.
