People who stole them, to avoid identification?

Probably most of them just fell off, like a lot of other Force parts. :D

Mine still has them and the first person who removes a part from my motor will be shot, hung, and burried in that order.

Re: Who removed all the id numbers?

hello
well force kinda got a bad rap. the old chyslers and force and even the brunswick built force motors all suffered ign failure problems, but so did merc and jonnyrude.
the biggest problem I have ever seen with chyslers and US Marine force motors is and was LACK of maint. the head gaskets tended to blow for no reason. the cure was every other year to replace it. the pumps ran in a cast housing and did not last long. the cure was a yearly housing inspection and impeller replacement. the exhaust covers gave some trouble sometimes. the cure was every 3-4 years remove them for cleaning, inspection and new gaskets. the block mounted pressure valves would corrode in place. the cure was a yearly removal and cleaning. the biggest problem was the fact that they were mostly sold to entry level buyers that had such maxed out credit and not enough resources to maintain them so they got run till they broke then they were called a bad make when in fact it was lack of consumer maint.
kinda like a 3.0 mercruiser in a bayliner or a trophy. so usually when I see them its not a FORCE failure but a maint failure.
but I still wont work on them anymore :) :)

Steal a Force? Now that is funny. I guess if thieve's were smart they would not be thieves.
I don't know Roscoe, I going with the fall off theory. Too many missing, nobody would steal that many motors. It is interesting though, the bottom layer of the tag does not fall of it just reads Void. I might take a closer look next time.
