At work?

Called in Monday, used a vacation day, supposed to be getting this old 46 foot Chris Craft of mine ready to scuttle at sea. It sank twice last winter and Ive been loading her up with rocks, window weights and cynder blocks all summer. Apparently Im in a multi-juristictional river, harbormaster from one side said it was ok to scuttle, now, at the last minute, harbormaster from the other side butts in, now the EPA and the National Marine Fisheries Service are all giving me crap. So I may be scuttling the scuttling plans, nothing else to do with the barely habitable piece of crap, at least on my budget. Back to looking for a generator (old ones on the bottom) to get some saws running and start cutting her up on the mooring and feeding her into the barrel stove. Wish I started sooner though!

Tripped over a hose in the engine room Monday, galvanized fitting busted off of a ball valve thats stuck in the on position. So now the waters coming in pretty good, spent about an hour with some small screwdrivers picking the rest of the galvy out of the bronze threads so I could plumb something in. Found the fitting I needed, and some hose, and some clamps. Not how I intended to spend my vacation day.

Back to the boat ramp, came ashore Sunday and re-adjusted the front roller on my trailer as it had come loose. Now Im cranking the boat up and the rollers a bit too high, cant get the safety chain on so I pull up the ramp, watch the boat shift on the trailer, get out to put the safety chain on, couple of cranks on the winch and SNAP, strap breaks, there goes the boat, right back into the river, thank god I only pulled up the ramp 10 feet, like I knew
Swam out and retrieved the Lund, jury rigged the winch strap, home I go.

Only live a mile from the boat ramp, halfway home I hear a pop, by the time I get to my street theres smoke coming out from under the hood, temp gauges pegged. Shut off the truck, gonna take care of my boat before I look at
.. So I fill the barrel and get the Evinrude flushing, go over to the truck and start poking around, just a busted hose

Then I hear a whirring noise and go over to the boat to see the hose came out of the barrel (usually route it differently- trailer unhooked, jacked up..) EVINRUDES NOT PUMPING WATER AND NOW THATS OVERHEATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets see, 1-big boat trying to sink again, 2- little boat falling off the trailer, 3- truck overheating, 4- Evinrude overheating
.. TOP THAT FOR A VACATION DAY!

Nice and safe in my cubicle today
