Hi everybody <br /><br />Who is going to see Mel Gibsons "The Passion of the Christ" tomorrow? I am going to the first showing (theater almost empty which will make it slighty better for crying alot) and with some church folks Fri or Sat. I can't even watch the "making of" the film without getting sobby and choked up. Oh what a price He had to pay, for loveing me! Praise His sweet and holy name, and bless Him for the cruelty and disgrace and sin He bore for our souls!

howdy SW, look forward to seeing it too, although<br />won't be going to any premiers or anything myself.<br />funny how so much of the advertising I've heard<br />for this movie has come from religous orgs/people.<br />not that it was M.Gibson's intent, but talk about<br />a lot of good/free advertising and publicity.<br />hope he's equally as smart in his production of<br />the story. a great and truly inspiring story that<br />couldn't come at a better time IMO. I am looking<br />forward to seing it very much, so don't tell us<br />us how it ends.. (jk)

I have heard a lot of good things about the movie. I have heard that the details of his crucifixion are displayed in all its brutality and detail. Hard to watch i'm sure. I will be seeing it also.<br /><br />Its a good reminder to everyone that Jesus died for us. Agree with Mellow, couldn't come at a better time.

Yep! I'm going to see it, but I'll probably wait until the weekend. All of the hullabalu about it being "insensitive" has just made me want to see it more. It's great advertisement. Even the Pope said

Lucky Me!<br />I get a special midnight private screening tonight. My son is a manager at a downtown theater and called & invited me & his Mom. Should be less than 10 of us in the whole theater, and it won't be released until Wednesday! I'm excited!<br />(No, I won't come on here and spoil it for anyone)

We're mounting a group from church and I'm lookink forward to it. It WAS brutal and He hung there for each of us the same. My pastor was first in line this morning no doubt. We've discussed it quite a bit the last couple weeks. I believe Gibson will be vindicated when the film is a huge success. The world needs it NOW!

My wife and I saw it today. Very intense and very, very graphic. Probably exactly like what scourging and crucifixions actually looked like. Based on my limited knowledge of the scriptures, it seemed to follow them accurately. I wouldn't recommend taking a kid under twelve, although some of the video games I see my grandkids playing make me wonder about this. How good was it? It'd the only movie I've EVER been to that I DIDN'T go out and smoke a cigarette half-way through.
