Why 2 turns on a Yamaha 6X0??

I'm switching over from a HotFoot back to the hand control throttle and noticed that the decal in the handle said "Wrap wire 2X to the Left". I was just wondering why the Trim/Tilt wires have to be wrapped around the handle 2X? Is it just for extra slack in the wire? Is once not enough slack? Thanks.
