Why Can't I Use The Pylon for Tubing?

I just bought a 1988 Seaswirl Ski boat. it is equipped with a ski pylon, I noticed it has a sticker on it that says "Do not use for inflatables or tubeing or warranty will be void." can anyone tell me why? just seems to me if it can pull a 200lb man on skis it can pull a 100lb kid on a tube. I was planning on useing the tie-down "D" rings on the transom, but I was just curious why the sticker is there.

I think it says that because when a skier falls off all your pulling is the rope.... but when a tuber falls off and you slow down and turn around to get them, the tube sometimes goes under the water and creates ALOT of drag, and since the pylon (or wakeboard tower) has a higher center of gravity, it could cause the boat to capsize (tip over.).... Use the transom straps with a rope pulley connecting the two hooks

Pulling a tube can create MUCH more drag than is possible pulling a skier. If the nose of the tube goes down, it's like you're all of a sudden trying to pull a barn door. It's also very easy to get a little slack in the tube rope, and when it jerks tight it can easily rip the ski pylon out of the boat. Not much fun for the people on the boat or the tube who get hit by the ski pylon .....

45auto is right. It has to do with the drag that may be created. They always say same thing about wakeboard towers. Think about a skier vs tube. The max force the rope can see even (with a highly experienced rider) is limited by the max force they can exert on the handle. A tube has the capacity of creating many many more times force then you can hold on too and create with handle.
