I have had 3 different minn kotas leak water into the housing in the last 3 years. 2 of the motors were less than 4 years old and stored indoors. When I took them apart, there was lots of water in the motor housing along with rust, gunk, etc which messed up the brushes. I will NEVER buy another Minn kota and I have been using them for over 30 years. The newer ones are cheaply made (lots of plastic), dont last, and repairs wil come. Just wait and see. I may try some caulk or something around the seals because their seals suck just like minn kota. Motorguide next time for me.
