How come we still have the old page and the most of the boards have been updated to the new? Starting to feel like a red headed step child.

well maybe it could be down load time, I still use dial up. and if you add a bunch of extras, all it does is make things slower.... If i had hi-speed, I couldn't afford the boat :D :D infact many posts on this site with photos, I don't go to because it just takes too much time....although with your site I made an acception, you have a beautiful boat.... by the way, did you get it running again.????

Re: Why don't we have the pretty new colors?

Thanks for the complement. <br />I got it back together and broke it, back together and broke it again. It all started with the roller rockers (what I thought was the best buy of the winter). Apparently there design has a oiling problem with the LA Mopar motors. The first time a rocker bound on the rocker shaft and held a valve open till the piston hit it. You got it, bent valve. Not being sure why it happened I took it apart. I still couldn't find anything that would hang the valve open (all the rockers moved freely at the time). Chalked it up to a freak of nature. Replace the valve and installed new rocker springs just in case and tried again. Went about a hundred yards, stopped and popped open the motor hatch to make sure everything was all right. Put my hand on the valve cover to find it to be very hot. That aint normal. Then it started hanging valves open (I could here the piston helping them close) Back to the ramp and home. Pulled the covers off to find the rockers scorched and the shafts had burs on them. Not enough or no oil. With 60lbs of oil pressure it had to be the set up. This time I took it apart and investigated why it happened . CSI would have been proud. What I found out was this. First the roller rockers were very sensitive to how they were positioned on the rocker shafts. Followed the directions to the letter but with no way to adjust they could have been off a little. The second was every Mopar manual I have ever set my eyes on says to use a RTV sealant on the head bolts. That is fine for all the bolts except for one in each head. The one bolt if you use a sealer on it the sealer will seep up and partially block the oil flow to the heads. Knowing that I am now waiting on parts (gaskets and pushrods) to show up tomorrow so I can put it back together with the old rockers and I should be fine. I hope. Just no roller rockers. After three motor tear downs this spring I have had enough. Maybe I will try again next year.
