Why not have a soliciting/wanted/looking for section?

I just read the thread of the guy looking for a Starcraft windshield. From an outside view it makes sense to look to a place like this to find vintage parts. How about the the various people looking for a new (used boat) or various other boat items.

What's the danger of having a free for all section where people can post what they have or are looking for?

hmmmm, ok as I put that from thought to typing I've thought of a few issues, but I'll let the original query stand as I'm curious why it's strictly banned.

The owners of this site have no interest in it. That's pretty much the deal.

Guess you can't argue with that.

You need to remember that this is a retail store.

Can you imagine a brick and mortar retail store allowing a flea market in the lobby?

Can you see the risk that such a flea market would offer marketing opportunities to competitors?

Bingo....I've been hanging out at the back dock so long I forgot about the retail store up front.
