Re: why?

Because a moderator has closed the threads. Usually they close threads when they get out of hand and sometimes when they stick them in the stickies. And for other reasons but basically its because a mod closed it.

Re: why?

Move a post? From one thread to another?

Without a mod doing it I dont know or dont know if you can. You can click the edit button on your post and delete it and/or copy it to another thread.

The edit button is by the quote button.

Re: why?

In order to move posts, you need to be a moderator. No other way.
Threads usually get closed because the mods don't want you asking questions in the stickies, and like LAC_STS said, if things get out of hand..
As well, old posts sometimes get locked because new members bring back old topics that are more than a year old, and usually it follows by mods saying to make your own topic for your problem or whatever. You get the picture.

Re: why?

What kind of boat / engine do you have?

You need to post your steering question in either the correct engine forum or the Boat Topics and Questions (not engine topics) forum.

No body here moved your post. you HAVE to be a mod to do that. If a thread (when you start a new topic) got moved it was moved by a mod because it was in the wrong section.

You need to start your own thread in the appropriate place. Then people will help you.

Re: why?

Original posters can only edit their own posts.

Poster's can not post to closed threads and certain sections.

Moderator's can edit, delete and move posts.

None of us moderator's can read minds but we generally respond fairly quickly to Post Reposts by you clicking the small warning triangle at the top of each post.
