Will 1990 Johnson T/T fit 1981 Johnson that doesn't have one?

I have a 1990 Johnson 40hp with tilt/trim that needs to be rebuilt. However, I am looking at purchasing a 1981 60hp Johnson that does not have tilt/trim installed. I am wondering if my stuff will simply bolt onto the older engine mount.
If not, will the bigger motor fit my engine mount?
BTW, I looked for an answer to my question before posting, but couldn't find one (could have missed it though). My boat IS rated for up to 70hp.
The price is right for this motor so I can get back on the water, but not sure about going without the t/t, since it is SO NICE to be able to trim the boat depending on # of passengers and water conditions.

I would check that it can handle the weight,40hp to 60 shouldn't be that big a deal. it basically an electric motor with 2 hydrolic pistons. shouldn't be that hard to make fit, but I don't know. 1st i would check in each year if the t/t were the same for both motors. meaning if a 1990 t/t was the same for both a 40 hp and a 60hp

well, after looking at the site you recommended, it looks like they are similar (both have motor with one cylinder), but not the same. It looks like the 50hp are the same, but the 60hp is diff so they must need a little larger cylinder/motor combination..
Anyone have a 60hp engine they are parting out that has a tilt trim to sell?
