I think a 25 would be a bit overdoing it.

They pretty much just go by pitch these days mostly, and I hazard an estimate at about a 19 pitch. That would probably be a 13 3/4" x 19" in the older nomenclature.

There should be a size somewhere on that prop, look inside the hub thoroughly as well as on the outside.
If you still can't find the size then I would take it to a prop shop before purchasing another, I am sure they could tell you exactly what size it is?. Good Luck........Irv964

What length, model do you have?
I have a 21 ft. Celebrity Firestar with a 350 magnum MPI, Bravo one with silent choice, power trim tabs and a 23p.
I don't think I could swing a 25 on mine. With the 23 it strains to get up on plane with a full load. Full gas and 5-6 people.

It's ok with just a few on board. 3-4.

A rocket with 1-2.

If you have an 18 ft. boat, a 21 might work with a light load. A 19 should work without any issuses.

That totally depends on your way of boating, do you go out alone or are all the seats taken?

With you having a 21ft.CC I feel a 21p would be fine with you and a guest. The 19p for a full load and any more passengers, especially adults.
The 25p is way to much for your boat.
Do you have trim tabs?

Well...since none of the usual folks have chimed in just yet, I will.

Personally, I strongly recommend searching the other old posts for further advice on this subject. Volumes have been written about how you pick the proper prop size.

That said, here is my advice, summarized from others more experienced than me. If you are running the original gear ratio outdrive that came with your boat, I would not expect a 25p prop to work well at all. However, if you already have a 25p prop, give it a try. Note your maximum rpm with that prop. I assume it is going to be well below your max recommended rpm. You want your boat motor to reach max rpm when you are at full throttle with a typical load, so...

Here is the typical advice given. Decreasing your prop pitch will raise your rpm, approx. 200 rpm/pitch decrease. Adjust your pitch (by trying different props) until your motor can reach close to its max recommended rpm (without going over) at wide open throttle. This will typically give you your max speed, which is what most folks equate to max performance.

If however, you have a heavy load, or are pulling heavy or mulitiple tubes and/or skiers, consider running an even lower pitch prop. It will be necessary to pay close attention to your rpm gauge to make sure you do not over rev your engine, but this type of prop will give you a stronger hole shot...with the trade off of a lower top speed (rpm self limited I hope).

The problem I believe you will reach with a 19p prop is exceeding the recommend max rpm of your engine. You could over rev and see how far past it will go, and use this info to figure what prop you need, but of course you risk blowing your engine. Please don't do that.

Start over propped, then adjust accordingly...that is my personal advice. Do not, I repeat, do not continue to run your engine over propped thinking it will get you good fuel mileage. It will not. What it will do is slowly destroy your motor. Work with the prop pitch until you hit max rpm at WOT without going over.

Just my two cents, consider what you paid for it.

Yes, a 19 should be a very good all-around prop for that boat. A 21 will be slightly faster, but harder to get on plane. If you usually run light then the 21 will work, heck a 23 might even work but probably wouldn't be ideal. Personally I would go with the 19. All the theory in the world is fine for pencil-pushers, my advice is based on a fair amount of real world experience.

Thank you all for the wonderful advise. As you all may know a stainless steel prop is quite expensive and I wanted to make sure I purchase the correct size that will work best for my boat. This has certainly been a learning experience for a novice boater. Thanks once again!
