Will a MR lower unit fit where a R unit used too??

:% Hi guys
I bought a used MR lower unit on E-Bay and I hope it will fit onto my upper unit of my old R unit. I'm tired of having chipped and stripped gears on these R units and I hope this will solve that problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ayuh,.........

It should Fit just Fine........

I don't know Why you've been having Issues with Chipped or Broken Gears,....
But,......
The MR or Alphas have the Same Gear-Sets,........
It's just that the Bearings are Pre-loaded in a Different Way...........
