I just put a 1990 Yamaha 130 on a 89 searay 180. Is there a way to get the searay gauges to work with this? The motor came with a digital Tach/multifunction meter but I dont think it works, when I hook it up it just reads 0. On the back of it there are 2 -4 wire plugs and several other wires that I dont know where they go. Is there a wiring diagram available for this motor/ gauges? Or do I need new gauges?

As a general rule you need to have the gauges that go with the motor not neccessarily those that are on the boat.

any idea where I can find a wiring diagram for the yamaha gauges? I know its supposed to be plug and play but I have a few odd wires I dont know where to go with. The back of the old tach has 2 - 4 prong plugs , 1 for tilt, 1 other, then a black green yellow and gray - where do they go? any help would be great! Thanks

A genuine manual will have a wiring diagram and color codes. If the gauge did not come with a loom you will need to make or purchase a patch loom for the control box and the connection under the motor cowling.
