1995, 75 hp force by mercury--My cd units are grounded and motor will not start. I can disconnect the black/ yellow wire and motor cranks and runs good. However I can only turn the motor off by reconnected the black/yellow wire to the cd units. How can i get control of when I want to ground cd units? This apprears to be a ground problem, but I don't know where. Any input appreciated. thanks

Obviously the CD boxes are working. Thus: you need to check for a broken or frayed and grounding wire or the ignition switch is either defective or incorrectly wired. Let's not forget that the CD box ground wire may be connected to the wrong termination.

Make sure your emergency kill switch isn't activated too.

The emergency kill switch has been removed. I have ordered a new one. Should the inlet and exit wire be taped and left open or should they be tied togeather for a complete circuit and taped? This is for a temporay fix until I install the new switch.

They should be left open or apart. If you connect them together it will ground out the ignition preventing the CD units from firing.

PNWboat hit it on the head. Your leads are probably touching and shorting out the CDI modules.

Yep! You can also put a temporary toggle or push button from black /yellow to ground as a shut down till you get into the complete fix.
