Will this trailer work for my boat?

I recently purchased a 330 Sea Ray (new to me - 1994). Although I don't necessarily have to remove her during the winter, I really like the idea of getting her out of the water and "tinkering a bit". I have found a very reasonable trailer on CL that says it will carry a 38 ft boat. Is there a danger of not having enough boat for the trailer? My ramp is only 200 yds from my home and I only intend to park it in the driveway (no highway useage at all) Also, the trailer is rated for 10,000 lbs and my boat would be slightly in excess of that after adding fuel, water, etc.
I appreciate you opinions. Regards Sam

I just purchased a Formula 330 and I am considering getting a trailer for similar purposes.

I would do it as well.

You can probably move the bow stop back a bit to take up any slack in the current setup. The key thing would be to get reasonable tongue weight. If you keep it on the trailer for any length of time, I would use some blocks or jack stands to get a bit of the weight off of the wheels.

given the way you have outlined that you will be using the trailer, I agree .... in addition to the comments above, I'd keep the tires aired to max pressure

10K sounds awfully light for a trailer adequate for a 39'er, and 'carry' may not mean 'adequate'. Craigslist is the birthplace of skepticism ... ;)

The OP says he has a 330DA which is 32 foot 10 inches LOA and 10k lbs. dry. He does not intend to use the trailer for over the road travel. He will be perfectly fine using that trailer for storing the boat on the hard. As long as the bunks or rollers are positioned in such a way to provide proper support of the keel and hard chines, it will be just fine. The Craigslister may have been a bit optimistic in his suggested length of use, but if the trailer really is equipped with axles rated for a 10k load, there is simply no issue here.

Carry on!

Unless he decides he wants to move it somewhere for whatever reason. Never understood why folks will buy something like a trailer that is undersized, regardless of intended usage, but then I'm plumb anal about using the right tool for the job ...
