Will this work as a kicker?

Buddy of mine has a 1956 Johnson 10hp that he'll let me have for $20 or a case of beer. I have a kicker bracket on my boat, and would like to get it and use it as a trolling motor. The boat is a 22' walkaround that displaces roughly at 4600lbs. Will I see any headway, or is this too small of an engine? I'm going to get the motor, but before I mount it, was wondering if it's worth the effort.

Probably will be iffy in the ocean, rivers with strong current or large lakes. Other than that, I would think it OK.
