Will using premix effect knock sensor on 88 225 excel

I read a post that the excel motors require 91 octane. I was going to disconnect my oil injection and use premix but I was wondering if that would lower the octane rating? Is there a way to disable this sensor or that not a good idea?

cant remember, wait for Ray to post, he is the expert on the older yamahas. in 88 I was fixing gray boats not play boats

Would make no difference since the mixture that actually hits the cylinder is the same.
