will yahmaha control box work for mercury motor

I am looking into buying a yahmaha control box for my mercury motor. The yahmaha is on a mariner so i think it will work. Does anyone know?

If you're looking to use only the control cables and not the electrics it should be ok. If you need the electrics either get a merc box or you'll have to do some fancy rewiring of the yammy box.
