Windlass

I have a Quick 1000 Windlass. The anchor will go down but not up. I bought a new switch but still does not work. Before I spend a $130 bucks on a solenoid can anyone tell me how to bench test or jump it to see if the motor works going up?
I took all the terminals off and cleaned them. Any help appreciated.

Holly molley , take off every cable, clean to bright shinny metal. Look under the insulation jacket on the cables and I would bet they are also corroded. Once all clean try again

If it doesn't work use a volt meter and see if voltages change when going up and down to different wires

if those are the cleaned terminals, they must have been quite a sight before cleaning!

they need to be cleaned to shiny metal - clean enough your wife would eat off of them.
