Windshield frame?

I have a 20ft DC and last season when i ran with the bimini top up one of the straps clipped to the windshield metal frame started to lift up from the windshield it was holding in place. I to the brakcet apart and there is a rubber gasket between the metal and glass which i repacked, but it still seems to lift when pulled on. Is this normal or is there some kind of adhesive i' should use to keep the frame connected to the glass? They are screwed togther where they connect to other sections of the windshiled, but it only lifts on the left side. Any help would be much appreciated before i spend $$$ taking it to a boat dealer.

That's called "Window Welting",.... And your's is Dried Out......<br />Any Good Glass Shop should be able to provide you with a Replacement Piece...........<br /><br />That'll Fix the Problem.....
