Re: Windshield Hinge-Rubber 1972 Glastron

We had to replace the hinge material on our old Glastron years ago too. We got lucky and found a dealer that had a big roll of the stuff. We just had them cut us off about ten feet or so of it so we'd have more for the next time it broke. Maybe if you check around, you could find a dealer that has the stuff or could tell you where to find it.

You could always get a couple of small stainless steel hinges, or SOMETHING LIKE THIS(although that one's probably too big), drill and tap the window frame and attach it that way. Then you wouldn't have to worry about that stupid plastic/rubber thing ever breaking again.

I fixed mine with a piano hinge and pop rivets years ago. Not thinging, I used regular steel. It rusted, but it worked.

Since this post appears to be 7 yrs. old, he may have found it, sold his boat, or has taken up golf. But I would be surprised if he is sitting by his computer waiting for a response.

These old post can sneak up on you if you don't watch the "post date".

As "they" say welcome aboard.
