Hi... I have a 2001 Wellcraft Martinique 3300, and one of my windshield wiper motors is not able to move my pantograph wiper. I can hear it run, but it won't move the wiper. When I take the Wiper arm off the motor seems to run ok. The boat uses separate self parking motors for the port and starboard wipers and the motors not directly attached to the wiper arm pivot shaft. They are connected with a cantilever arm (I think that is how it could be described) The motor is located above the headliner and it is very difficult to get in there far enough to really make a good diagnosis, but I have been able to isolate the wiper from the cantilever arm and grab ahold of it to see if additional resistance will make the motor fail, however it seems strong. I am not sure what to do next, any suggestions?

could be a failing motor, could be something awry with the bell-crank arm or wiper shaft end.

have you called Wellcraft customer service for tips and suggestions on pulling the wiper motor and gear?

After further diagnosis, I have concluded it's isolated to the motor/drive unit. So I removed it with a lot of swearing. I am able to recreate the problem when I put pliers on drive arm and turn it on. When I remove the cover off of the gear housing of the drive motor, I can clearly see that the worm drive and gear are worn. So problem identified. I have ordered a direct part number replacement to this unit from www.WiperParts.com. Hopefully I can get it replaced with less swearing....
