My boat is on a lift ,when lifted as high as it will go the prop is only about six inches from the water at full pond. Last year the lake went above full pond. Can I store with the drive up to make sure water doesn't get into drive? will it drain out if it does get in? or will it freeze and break something. It's a 2009 volvo penta if that makes a difference.

Ayuh,... Storing tilted full up is not generally the accepted practice...
Yes, it's SUPPOSED to drain, but I wouldn't trust it too...
And, Yes, if it fails to drain, you'll be replacing the lower casting in the spring...

To save the headaches,... Pull the drive, 'n store it elsewhere...

What type of lift do you have. If water rises, doesn't your boat lift and the boat rise with it?

Im on a lift as well and plan on keeping mine only very slightly trimmed 2-3 inches above the water. If the water rises, the lift will rise with it as well. Mine is a hydra hoist
