I have a 93 150 HP Merc Black Max O/B and am winterizing it for the first time. As winters can get cold (0 F) I would like to do it right.

A buddy told me to drain the water jacket that cools the cylinders and this can be done by opening the drain plug, but he does not know were the plug is. I have taken the motor cover off and can not find an obvious drain plug. At the top of the 2 cylinders they each have a thermostatic control that allows water to exit but I can find nothing else.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to properly drain the water out?
