I have a 2001 Merc 7.4L MPI and I am in the process of winterizing it. I am wondering if anyone else out there may have the same engine and no how many drain plugs there might be. I have found three on the port side of the engine and only two on the starboard. Due to the positioning of the hot water tank on the starboard side, it is very difficult to see if I may be missing a plug.

I believe that there is only one plug on each side of the engine to drain the block. There are two additional plugs on the port side, which drain two hoses coming from the engine. The Starboard side has only one drain plug (that I can find) for one of the hoses coming off the engine. An additional hose goes to the sea pump but there isn't a drain plug. This totals the five plugs. Am I missing one? Additionaly, should I remove the hose from the sea pump or does the water automatically drain by gravity back out the outdrive? Is there any reason to put antifreeze the engine if you have drained all the plugs and hoses?

Thanks!
