I was looking to find out how I would be able to winterize the boat without my outdrive, I have been having issues with the upper Gears and have it taken apart but its now getting into the upper 30's here and I need to get my boat winterized. I was wondering if I could run the antifreeze through the water inlet while the motor is running and then fog it down. is this safe? if not, please help with suggestions. Thanks

Ayuh,...... Winterizin' always starts with Drainin' all the water from the block, 'n manifolds, 1st,........

If ya wanta use antifreeze, After ya drain it,..... Sure, that'll work, go for it,.....

As Bondo pointed out. Drain the block and manifolds. Prob the plug ports with a wire. Remove the hose from the power steering cooler to raw water pump, and remove the large hose from the circulation pump. Change oil and filter on motor. Prefill the filter with fresh oil.

No need for antifreeze, no need to fog, no need to run motor. However if adding antifreeze makes you feel good, pick up 4 gallons of PG and pour it into the hoses using a funnel

Well if you have a closed cooling system, it will be different from raw water cooling....

What engine do you have? Does it have a flushing adapter?

You should look up the engine manual....it will have the exact procedure recommmended.
